‘The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace’
                                                                                                                                  By M.K. Gandhi.
As Mody School celebrated 2nd October with great zeal and enthusiasm, the programme commenced with the ‘Lamp Lighting Ceremony’. This memorable event was anchored by the students of class XI.
Of course, there’s no use of reading the Gita without knowing who Krishna is. Abiding by this fact, the audience was furnished with the importance of the day and the endeavours of the two great leaders i.e. Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastri who share a common birthday.
To make the students realize the importance of a teacher, Abraham Lincoln’s letter to his son’s school Head Master was narrated by class XI students which ignited a fire in them. Then a powerful speech was delivered by Anjali Singh of class IX. Following this, 4 students of class XI recited poetry on the sinking vision of the father of the Nation, highlighting the problems like violence and corruption.
Last, but not the least the hall was filled with devotional ambience when Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite prayer song, ‘Raghupati Raghav’, was sung to remind the audience of his ideals. The witnesses of the programme were withheld when class XI student Seema Sharma prepared a canvas which depicted the Mahatma’s portrait during the course of this song. The events of the programme received thunderous applause from the audience.
The programme was concluded with the Assistant cultural secretary Keetanjali Singh’s vote of thanks followed up by the National Anthem.
Undoubtedly, this event was a grand success and accomplished its purpose of making the students aware of the ideal ‘Rationalism for Nation can pay back all your debts’.
