“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words” –

Robert Frost

Poems always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of the physical world. An Inter-house English Poetry Recitation Competition was conducted online by Ms Meenu Soni via Google meet on 14/8/21 of classes- IV, V and VI. Beauty is the realm of poetry; children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts, the students of classes-IV, V and VI got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition inspired the young, vibrant poets to come forth and recite beautiful poems. The poems were judged based on presentation skill, voice and articulation, dramatic appropriateness and overall performance of the children. Children recited poems like, the freedom fighters, the soldier, Earth needs you, when the mind is without fear, if a tree could talk etc. All the students were dressed up as characters and presented their poems with facial expressions and voice modulation. The little poets of Mody School used props and PPT with different background scenes to captivate the audience attention. The rhythm and presentation skills of little kids were outstanding. Three students from each house – Gargi, Kasturba, Leelawati and Sarojini were selected and performed. The children came up with different ideas for poems and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm. They captivated the

attention of the audience. The little poets won everyone’s heart and were applauded.
