Mody School lays great emphasis on the all round development of the children. To achieve this, they are provided opportunities to participate in a number of co-curricular activities. The students are grouped under four houses, named after great women viz. Gargi, Kasturba, Leelawaty and Sarojini. Several inter-house and inter-school cultural, literary and sports competitions, conducted throughout the year, give them a chance to showcase their unique talents in a variety of ways.
Learning at Mody School goes beyond class room. Students participate in co-curricular activities by becoming members of various scientific, literary and cultural clubs that include dramatic, art and craft, debate and declamation, photography, ecology, adventure, social service and other activities.
Students' participation in activities management is encouraged and they are expected to shoulder responsibility by holding various offices in activity clubs and houses. It helps girls to develop self-confidence and leadership quality that are integral to the growth of a successful personality.
The Mody School Band is a unique and characteristic feature of our institute. It synthesizes harmonic development and rhythmic coordination among children, raising the art of making music to a distinguished level. Skilled bandmasters of Brass Band and Pipe Band impart training to the students on a regular basis.
Equestrian training is an integral part of our curriculum. This training aims at developing qualities of self-confidence and boldness, besides inculcating a love for animals among students. Equestrian sessions are conducted under expert supervision of specialized riding masters.
Promoting Competition & Cooperation
To inculcate a healthy spirit of competition, students are rewarded for outstanding performances in academics, games, sports and other co-curricular activities. These awards acts as a mechanism of motivation for students to strive constantly for excellence in various fields.
The School provides its students with an opportunity to join the NCC (National Cadet Corps), inculcating in them a sense of discipline and patriotism.
NSS and Girl Guides
Regular training in NSS and Guides is imparted to students and camps are organized from time to time.
Membership to these organizations promotes qualities of comradeship, discipline and leadership that are so essential for the healthy growth of a child.
The school is closely associated with Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth (Spic Macay) and play host to a number of renowned and internationally acclaimed artists from the world of performing arts. An interface with such luminaries helps in promoting respect and appreciation for one’s own culture and heritage.
Annual visits are arranged for children of all classes to places of cultural, historical and geographical interest. These tours instill a sense of pride in our National heritage, besides building a strong foundation for patriotism, appreciation of cultural diversity and responsible citizenship.
Founder’s Day Celebration
A three day long extravaganza in January marks the Founder’s Day Celebration of the school. Besides the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, where all meritorious students are felicitated, the school also organizes its Annual Ballet and Valedictory Function for class XII. Annual Sports Day also forms an integral part of the Founder’s Day Celebration.
Mody School was founded in 1989 and since then academic excellence is the target for Mody girls and many have indeed proved it by scoring a perfect 100% in Maths, Geography and Social Studies. Many of our girls are admitted to prestigious institutes of higher learning and are pursuing careers of their choice.
Annual Prize Distribution
Meritorious students who have excelled in the field of Sports, Culture and Academics are felicitated at the glittering Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, a part of the School’s Founder’s Day Celebration.
Mody Girls participate regularly in IPSC and CBSE events, both in the field of culture and sports. Over the course of time, they have won accolades, certificates, medals and trophies. That is a testimony to their highly intense competitive spirit.
The NSS and Guide Wings of the school are integral to promoting qualities of comradeship, discipline and leadership in our girls. A number of socially useful projects on literacy, sanitation & hygiene are carried in the locality by these organizations from time to time
The School fete is an annual event and organized each year on Christmas Day. A colourful extravaganza of games and food stalls by the students and teachers is spread across the lawns of the campus. The proceeds from the Fete go into various socially useful projects, such as tree plantation drives, literacy programmes etc.
The Alumni Association of Mody School was formed in 2004 and is the perfect way to keep in touch with each other. The funds from the Association are being utilized for promoting literacy amongst girl-children in nearby areas. The Association meets each year on the 24th December in the school campus.
